Time to Get Ready

It has come to my attention that working in an office each day has been bad for my health. I weight a little more and need to get myself in better shape.

This morning I took the dogs for a run. The three of us ran up each hill I could find (I need to practice running up hill since that is the only place I normally run when on the scooter). Today’s run was a good start toward getting in shape, but I definitely need to increase my activity level this next month.

Our next race is in December and I hope that the three of us are in better shape than the other teams. The cold fall this year has allowed many teams to get out training early, so our competition will be ready for us.

I am still in search of a sled. I hoped I could get one in November, so I would be ready for snow in December. I’ll have to get busy looking.

Making Losing Fun

Flurry and Blizzard had a great time up north racing last weekend. We stayed over at a cabin with some friends on Friday night. The dogs were so excited, they did not sleep much.

On Saturday, we got up early to get to the race site. We watched teams race all morning and started our run just before noon.

It seemed the dogs did not have enough energy to run good after their exciting night in a new place. They did not pull as hard as they normally do.

We all slept good the second night and got an extra hour due to turning the clocks back. However, for our second day of running the dogs just wanted to chase another team. When the team behind us passed us up, they ran great as long as the other team was in front of us.

They had a blast trying to catch the other team (I held the brake to keep them from catching them) and I got to take in some scenery and get a ride up the hills instead of running up them like I had to do the first day.
